OCD Love Story by Corey Ann Haydu.
I can't even. So let's start with something easy.
The book is about OCD. Obsessive Compulsion Disorder (yes, it is a real thing.)
Firstly, for the sake of not just yourself, but also the author and the main character, Bea- I'm warning you.
If you do not understand OCD in concept, you might find this book boring, and the main character annoying-. Or, you mabe you will just find it intriguing, the way Corey sucks you into the kind of a different type of person.
The book itself was beautiful in an intensely disturbing and dangering way. It was intriguing, mind as I was saying, if you don't understand the concept, you will find the book slow paced.
At times in the book, I would find the idea, the thoughts of Bea and the others, so heartbreaking and unfair that I should have cried. But the way Corey developed our main character was very interesting. She had this way of saying the saddest most heartfelt things, in the funniest ways.
Bea, our min character was lovable. She was "quirky". She had a sense of dry humor, and her own sense. Her actions, sometimes got repetitive though, although I'm not sure I can blame her for that.
Herself, I couldn't connect with. I felt like I wasn't completely in her head, more like I was half way there and she was telling me the story. She had a sense of style that I never have. I didn't connect with her, but I understood her. I understood how wrong she felt. The way she portrayed what she was feeling was so real.
The other characters such as Beck, Jenny, Dr. Pat I loved. They added a mix to the story that moved it forward.
I feel like... Corey has this amazing sense in the book.
At times I would be so serious reading it, you would think that somebody stole my dauntless cake. At other moments, i would be laughing so hard, you'd think... Well you'd think I was crazy.
I recomend this to people who are willing to be patient, and pick up a slow b
